Frosty Morning Photography

I haven’t been feeling that creative recently, and not being able to travel far during lockdown has made it more difficult than usual. A frosty morning gave me some motivation to get out with my camera.

I’ve made a couple of trips out to some spots locally but as usual, all the best conditions are happening on days where I have to work my #dayjob. I’ve had a couple of mornings with good conditions but failed to come up with much creatively.

This was one such frosty morning, everything was covered in a thick hoar frost and I was out just as the sun was coming up. The scene in front of me looked amazing, I just couldn’t come up with anything that creative or impactful. I’m fairly happy with this image, I just feel the composition lacks something.

I wandered around the area for a while looking for anything that would stand out or make a great image. I think some of the problem is there may have been too much to photograph and I got analysis paralysis. I did pick out a couple of things but the finished result was not what I had pre-visualised.

I think I just need to get out more and practice, I’m feeling a bit rusty as it seems like an eternity since I spent a full day out with my camera.

Still, it was good to be out and the change of scenery and fresh air made a difference. Working from home full time is ok, but being inside the same four walls 24×7 does take a toll eventually. I think I cope with it better than most as I’m not an overly social person. One of the reasons I like the solitude of landscape photography, I don’t have to deal with people.

Anyway, I hope you like the image and thanks for stopping by.

Have a good one!
